Best hosting for creating your first WordPress Website

Bluehosr WordPress Hosting Provider Logo - DigiBozz

Interested in a free domain name? Who isn't! All Bluehost web hosting plans accompany a free domain name for the primary year. Why make getting your site going more complicated? Get your dream domain and save by using Bluehost for both hosting and domain registration

  • Pricing plans are well within the reach of most users
  • Best Reliability
  • No Hidden Charges
  • Free Domain for one year
  • Free CDN + SSL
  • 30 Days money-back guarantee

  • Higher domain renewal price
  • Upselling Addons

Bluehost is one of the most trusted and popular web hosts on the market.

There are three reasons for this:

  • Ease of Use. BlueHost guides you through the entire setup process. After signing up, WordPress can be installed immediately. It will take you no more than 15 minutes to have your site online. Pro Tip: We have a complete how-to guide on creating a website if you need it.
  • Hands-On Customer Service. While we don’t think you’ll ever need to contact our customer service team, we can say with confidence that you’re in good hands if you ever do. If you experience any issues (e.g. cyberattacks, website crashes), Bluehost’s award-winning customer support team is there to help.
  • Budget-Friendly Pricing. Bluehost also offers some of the lowest prices around, with plans starting at just $2.95 per month. That’s an incredible deal.

So, if you are just starting out, they’re the perfect host to choose.

Shared hosting is what you’ll be using. As a result, any large spike in traffic to your server could cause your website to go down.

However, it almost never happens. It’s been over a decade since one of my websites went down on shared hosting.

You can upgrade to managed WordPress hosting for only $9.95/month if you ever need it. Though not the cheapest I’ve seen, this is still one of the most affordable options available for managed hosting.

Bluehost offers unbeatable value for money. Almost any website can use it, and they’re also highly recommended throughout the industry.

Overall, Bluehost is the best choice for most of you who are reading this – but especially for those who are just getting started.

Best hosting for easy peasy WordPress

Logo of HostGator Domain Registrar

HostGator hosts 8 million domains and is one of the biggest web hosting providers. The company offers specialized WordPress hosting services similar to Bluehost. Here is the result of our test site loading in 1.03 seconds. All other tested sites are slower than 94% of this site.

  • Fast and reliable hosting with good 24/7 support
  • Cheap Intro Prices
  • Free Site Migration
  • Free Domain
  • Free SSL

  • Renewal fees are higher
HostGator hosts 8 million domains and is one of the biggest web hosting providers. The company offers specialized WordPress hosting services similar to Bluehost. It took our test site only 1.03 seconds to load. It’s faster than 94% of the sites tested.

Although its performance isn’t the best way to judge a new website, considering there is no traffic at all. Our goal was to find out how it would respond when traffic peaks.

Using HostGator servers, we built up 100 unique visitors at a time and ran the Load Impact test to determine how the server would handle multiple requests coming in at the same time.

In the chart, the blue line represents page load time and the green line represents the number of users. We had a great response time of 203 milliseconds in our test with our test site as you can see in the screenshot.

The cheapest option for managed WordPress hosting is HostGator. Following is a list of the three plans:

  • Starter ($5.95 per month): It is possible to use this plan for hosting a single website that receives 25,000 monthly visits. Blogs and small services websites work well with this theme.
  • Standard ($7.95 per month): The standard plan includes hosting one or two websites and supports up to 200,000 monthly visits. Unless you need to handle large e-commerce platforms or modest service sites, this should be sufficient.
  • Business ($9.95 per month): The name of this plan implies that it is suitable for e-commerce businesses and big websites. Up to three websites can be hosted on it, and it can handle up to 500,000 visitors per month.

We mentioned earlier that HostGator does not have many WordPress-centric features. This is still the case, but we believe this provider also provides excellent value, which offsets the disadvantage. Additionally, it’s important to note that HostGator may have amended these prices since they were written.

Best hosting for growing your business

Logo of DreamHost Web Hosting - DigiBozz

Hosting service provider DreamHost is known for its reliability and 18-year history. The company offers one-click WordPress installation, and they are also an official recommended hosting provider.

  • One click WordPress install
  • Free Domain with privacy protection
  • Free SSL
  • Officialy recommended by WordPress

  • Hosting control panel is a bit outdated

Hosting service provider DreamHost is known for its reliability and 18-year history. The company offers one-click WordPress installation, and they are also an official recommended hosting provider.

We have seen that our New York City-based server loaded our test site in less than a second. The speed of this site beats 93% of all other tested sites.

To evaluate how DreamHost’s servers would perform during peak traffic hours, we ran the Load Impact test after the speed test. We gradually increased the number of unique visitors at once to see how the server would handle simultaneous connections from multiple users.

Active virtual users on the site are represented by the blue line, and server load time is represented by the green line. The server load was stable throughout the test even at peak traffic, as you can see in the image below.

Using Bitcatcha, we tested the server response time from different geographic locations after the load impact test.

According to DreamHost, loading times in the U.S were very quick, and response times covered the entire globe fairly effectively.

DreamHost is a great hosting company for websites regardless of geography.

DreamPress comes with three plans and includes all the features we have discussed so far. It is important to note, however, that the plans do differ in some ways.

According to each of the three plans, the following will take place:

  • Basic ($16.95 per month): DreamPress offers a plan where you can host up to one site for up to 10,000 monthly visitors. You will also receive 5 GB of SSD storage, along with a few basic backup options.
  • Plus ($24.95 per month): You receive extra storage and increased potential traffic to 30,000 visitors per month with this plan. As well as a custom offsite backup solution, a catalog of premium themes, and a few other features, you’ll get access to a number of additional features.
  • Pro ($71.95 per month): The features of this plan are identical to those of the last plan. However, it will increase the numbers of your monthly visitors and resources even more.

While other hosting plans have higher tiers, the number of websites supported does not significantly increase as the tiers advance. A service like this is not intended for developers, but rather for WordPress users who want a fully managed and optimized site on their blog or website. You get a lot of value for the cost involved if that is what you are looking for. A customized plan can also be set up through DreamHost.

Best hosting for host hundreds of sites on a tight budget

Logo of Hostinger Domain Registrar

Hostinger is a good option for both experienced WordPress developers and beginners. Customer service is knowledgeable and offers fast speeds. On heavy-traffic sites, however, you may experience temporary delays in performance.

  • One-click WordPress install
  • Free Domain
  • Publically displayed server status
  • Good performance results

  • Moderate response times for support
  • Uptime is a little unreliable

Hostinger’s WordPress shared hosting plans come with solid features. You’ll have all the tools you need if you’re a first-time website owner. This is all offered at a reasonable price as well.

When it comes to choosing web hosting, price is often an important factor. It is important to do some research beforehand, as you may be tempted to overlook poor feature sets in order to get something within your budget. Hostinger is an affordable solution that will help you maximize your budget.

Additionally, you can choose a WordPress-specific plan and receive additional support and one-click installation. The shared hosting plans are inexpensive and suitable for a variety of websites. There’s also a choice between a single, premium, and business plan, although using WooCommerce is a good idea.

Hostinger has shared plans to help you get started. These are just a few features of it:

  • 24/7 WordPress expert support in 20+ languages
  • One-click installation of WordPress
  • Free domain names
  • A free SSL certificate and daily backups enhance security features
  • Bandwidth that’s practically unlimited

As we see in the pricing section of Hostinger. Many people will consider this factor to be an essential one when selecting a web host. It doesn’t matter how awesome your hosting is if it breaks your budget. Hostinger comes with Four Plans for WordPress Hosting:

  • Single WordPress ($1.99 per month): As a result, Hostinger offers some surprisingly low pricing plans for the services it offers. With promotional pricing (which only applies to your first billing cycle).
  • WordPress Starter ($2.99 per month): A free domain name is also included with the hosting if you pay a little more than Single WordPress. Additional benefits of higher-tier plans include free backups and the ability to build unlimited websites.
  • Business WordPress ($5.99 per month): It is very much optimized for small businesses. This plan comes with Free Domain, 100 Websites hosting, 200 GB SSD Storage, 100000 visitors monthly traffic, and much more.
  • WordPress Pro ($11.59 per month): It is very much optimized for small and medium businesses. This plan comes with Free Domain, 300 Websites hosting, 200 GB SSD Storage, 300000 visitors monthly traffic, and much more.

Hostinger is an affordable option all in all. You also get 30 Days money-back guarantee promise with all plans mentioned above. When you consider its server speed, this is especially true. You can always upgrade your plan if your site grows in the future, so it is a great place to start for a new site.

Best hosting for effortless web staging

Logo of Nexcess Web Hosting - DigiBozz

Nexcess is a high-quality web host that specializes in providing WordPress website owners with all the services they need. In terms of features, it definitely outshines the competition among managed web hosts. For those looking for a reliable web host, Nexcess offers free site migrations, CDN services, and 100% uptime and round-the-clock support.

  • Dedicated Support Team
  • 14 Days Free Trial
  • Website Migration

  • No Dedicated IP addon

Liquid Web’s Nexcess is designed to serve other powerhouses, like enterprise customers or those that manage multiple WordPress sites.

Nexcess is a great platform, though, because stage a website is incredibly simple. You can quickly and easily stage your site on their website with one click. That way you can edit, test, and tweak your site without worrying that you will mess up the actual website.

Nexcess is for people who wish to control more, but don’t want to do everything via AWS. As an alternative to AWS, it requires far less setup and maintenance while giving you more control than other hosting providers.

WordPress and plugins are also automatically updated. You and your team will have fewer headaches.

SSH, SFTP, and MySQL will be accessible at all levels. Besides Git version control, you also get CVS. Customer support, security, and speed are unparalleled.

The company offers seven different plans in total. This is a great solution for agencies or freelancers looking to host clients’ websites.

Spark: This is a beginning plan that starts at $19 a month. An unlimited number of email accounts, 15GB disk space, 2TB bandwidth, an SSL certificate, and a CDN are included in the package.

Maker: There is a monthly fee of $79 for this plan. With an SSL certificate, you get unlimited email accounts as well as five domain names, 40GB storage, and 3TB bandwidth.

Designer: There is a monthly fee of $109 for this plan. Dedicated hosting includes 10 websites, 60GB disk space, 4TB bandwidth, SSL certificates, and unlimited e-mail accounts.

Builder: The monthly price of this plan is $149 per month. An SSL certificate, 100GB disk space, and 5TB bandwidth are all included along with a hundred domain names.

Producer: This plan costs $299 per month. An SSL certificate, unlimited email accounts, 300GB of disk space, and 5TB bandwidth are included.

Executive: The monthly cost of this plan is $549 per month. A free SSL certificate, unlimited email accounts, and 500GB of storage and bandwidth are included.

Enterprise: This is the most expensive plan, with a monthly cost of $999. With 250 domain names, an SSL certificate, an unlimited number of email accounts, and 8 TB of disk space, you get everything you need.

Nexcess isn’t appropriate for everyone. Nexcess plans are overkill for small businesses. They should choose one of the other options. However, Nexcess is the WordPress hosting provider that power users have been looking for.

Logo of GreenGeeks Web Hosting - DigiBozz

Best hosting for busy creatives

Flywheel WordPress hosting Logo - DigiBozz

With Flywheel, you'll find one of the largest WordPress managed-to-host providers in the world. Both regular WordPress users and agencies will find the features offered by them very useful. Shared platforms typically provide a poorer experience compared to managed WordPress hosting.

  • Good suite of WordPress-specific options
  • Great Customer Support Service
  • Fast, stable performance
  • Advanced multiple features for freelancers and agencies

  • Higher Price Tag

In addition to its WordPress managed-to-host services, Flywheel provides an extensive range of tools designed to help freelancers, designers, developers, and agencies. You should definitely consider them if you want to develop or design your own website.

We’ll, however, concentrate our attention on WordPress features for this review. Here are some of the features Flywheel offers in that regard:

  • Optimized dashboard: You won’t have to deal with clunky cPanel anymore. You’ll have an attractive dashboard for your WordPress websites instead.
  • One-click staging sites: Try out changes on your WordPress site using the staging feature.
  • Nightly backups: Flywheel makes daily backups of your WordPress site, for added peace of mind.
  • Hands-on security: This ensures that your site is protected from malicious software and attacks, eliminating the need to install security plugins.
  • No manual installations: Flywheel’s Blueprints tool bundles themes and plugins into reusable configurations that can be installed on new sites automatically.

Flywheel’s comprehensive feature set for WordPress demonstrates its reputation as a quality product. See if that quality extends to support.

Flywheel’s plans are geared towards business owners and freelancers (with an emphasis on agencies). They have an extensive range of services, but for the purpose of this review, we will focus on their Pay per site plans:

  • TINY ($15 per month): These plans support up to 5,000 monthly visits and are ideal for portfolio websites.
  • STARTER ($30 per month): These plans support 25,000 monthly visits and are excellent for freelancers, small blogs, and personal websites.
  • FREELANCE ($115 per month): FREELANCE plans allow for one million monthly visits and are perfect for small to medium sites with service offerings. Ten sites can be created with it.
  • AGENCY ($290 per month): The AGENCY tier is capable of handling up to 5,00,000 visits monthly. This is a popular option for well-established blogs and eCommerce websites. With it, you can create over 30 different websites.

The first two plans we mentioned above are only compatible with a single WordPress site. The WordPress hosting provided by them is not very expensive, and in exchange for the price tag, they offer great service and require little micromanagement. It is definitely recommended that you take advantage of Flywheel if you want your site to always run smoothly.

Best hosting for most freebies in WordPress hosting plans

Hosting Provider ScalaHosting Logo - DigiBozz

Namecheap's EasyWP claims to be one of the cheapest and easiest managed WordPress hosting solutions. EasyWPs managed WordPress hosting provides extremely easy management, is very fast, and is extremely affordable (you won't find a better-managed WordPress hosting deal anywhere else).

  • Value for Money
  • 1 click WordpRess Install
  • Intuitive and beginner freindly dashboard
  • Fast cloud servers, SSD storage
  • Free CDN
  • 30 Days Money-back guarantee

  • Uptime guarantess are unclear
  • Not all WordPress plugins can be installed

You should be wary of WordPress hosting. There are many hosting companies that boast of optimizing their servers for WordPress, but what else are they able to offer you?

Scala Hosting offers an array of useful features on nearly every plan in addition to making sure your WordPress site runs faster.

First, the provider offers a free migration, which is not offered by every company. There’s no limit to how many WordPress sites you can migrate to Scala since the team’s experts will transfer your sites for free.

Before you point the site to your new servers, they’ll handle the migration and verify everything is working. In this way, you ensure that your sites remain online at all times.

Scala WordPress hosting plans also include security features. As part of Scala’s security solution, you’re given a dedicated firewall, a brute force attack blocker, custom rules that Scala’s team implements without you having to do anything, malware scanning and removal, and automated updates.

Moreover, they all include the following:

  • For a week, seven daily backups are taken with restore points
  • Network of free content delivery services
  • Free SEO tools and analysis

Scala’s entry-level WP Mini (one website, 20 GB storage) package allows you to unlock additional useful features. The following are:

  • WP Start: unlimited websites, 50 GB storage, double the CPU performance of WP Mini
  • WP Advanced: unlimited websites, 100 GB storage, quadruple the CPU performance

If you choose one of those plans, you will receive managed service, which means Scala’s WordPress experts will assist you with plugin issues and technical problems.

When you opt for WP Advanced, you’ll also get a free domain. Unlike most providers, this is not just a one-year contract. Your domain is free for the first year when you prepay. That’s an excellent bonus.

ScalaHosting offers very competitive pricing compared to other providers on this list and the wider WordPress hosting market:

  • WP Mini: $3.95/month for a three-year commitment, $4.95 for two years
  • WP Start: $5.95/month for a three-year commitment, $7.95 for two years
  • WP Advanced: $9.95/month for a three-year commitment, $10.95 for two years

There is even an option to try any one of those three plans for 99 cents a month. For anyone who wants to get their feet wet with WordPress hosting before diving in head first, that’s an ideal option.

To find out what more Scala Hosting can do, check out their website or contact a representative. The Scala Hosting service is an excellent choice for those who need WordPress hosting that works for them at an affordable price.

#10. iPage

Best hosting to build a perfect website

Logo of iPage Domain Registrar - DigiBozz

There are two similarities between WP Essential and IPage, as both provide a domain name, unlimited email storage, and unlimited monthly data transfer. However, WP Essential adds enhanced security and provides the ability to run unlimited websites.

  • Cheap Hosting
  • Enhanced Security Options
  • Third-Party Apps Support
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • 30-Day Money Back Guarantee

  • Lacks Windows-based servers
  • No cloud-based hosting options
  • Zero month-to-month plans

You should definitely consider iPage if you’re looking for a cheap and simple host for your WordPress website. A nice selection of extras is offered by iPage and their shared hosting service is an excellent alternative.

iPage is a good WordPress hosting option, though not as robust or fast as more expensive alternatives. With an unlimited amount of disk space, email accounts, and bandwidth, the company’s platform will dramatically speed up page load times. In addition to the free domain name, an SSL certificate is included.

iPage features curated WordPress themes that can be selected by customers who lack a site design. A usability and performance test is performed on each theme. As well as W3 Total Cache and Jetpack, the company includes many pre-installed plugins. Finally, SiteLock helps maintain your site’s security and prevents malware. On all packages, you will receive telephone support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The iPage web host, known for its cheap prices and low-quality hosting features, is one of our favorites among low-cost web hosts. A cheap and reliable web host such as iPage should definitely be on top of your list if you want a cheap, reliable web host.

iPage offers several beginner-friendly tools to assist you in setting up your website – from drag-and-drop site builders and easy eCommerce setup to marketing help and unlimited MySQL databases, domains, and email accounts. It will be relatively easy for a novice to launch and set up a great application.

Pricing from iPage is very competitive compared to those offered by other providers on the list and across the WordPress hosting market:

  • WP Starter: $3.75/month for a three-year commitment. It offers 1 website with a Free SSL Certificate and One Year of Free Domain registration and more.
  • WP Essential: $5.95/month for a three-year commitment. It offers Unlimited websites with a Free SSL certificate and One Year Free Domain Registration, and more.

iPage has plenty to offer, including quality plans, reliable uptime, and knowledgeable customer support, but the lack of cloud- and Windows-based hosting options knock it down a few notches. iPage is an excellent option if you’re on a budget, as it’s an extremely cost-effective solution.

Choosing the Best WordPress Hosting

It’s now easier to find a web host, but how do you choose the best one for you and your business?

In crafting this list, we took into account the following factors. Consider these factors when choosing a provider for WordPress web hosting.

We purposefully left out speed and uptime from our list. It should be obvious that these two things matter when looking for any kind of web hosting service.

We looked at some important factors that you may not have thought of right away, but which are no less important.

Customer service that is actually helpful

A successful website requires a smooth operation, especially if it’s making you money. In other words, when things go wrong such as when your website goes down or you experience a security breach or a cyber attack-you need a steadfast ally to help you through it.

Good customer support is one of the most important factors to consider when choosing a WordPress host.

HostGator’s customer support team has been well-reviewed. They are available 24/7/365 to help you with any issues you may be experiencing with your website.

It’s a managed WordPress host, so that may be the trade-off. This means that they come at a higher price. The price includes a great hosting service, however, as well as a support team that can assist with optimizing your website and guiding it through any downtime.

A managed WordPress site’s help desk and support team are WordPress experts. They know what you’re doing with your site and what plugins you’re using. In essence, they are optimized for you, not a general host with customers running a variety of apps.

Furthermore, managed hosts are built on providing service, unlike cheaper hosts without the financial resources to invest in customer support or who purposefully provide “unbearable technical support.”

Unmanaged options are still capable of providing excellent customer service, though. Bluehost, for example, offers award-winning 24/7 customer service for all your needs. A managed WordPress host would know your site better, though.

These services are particularly useful if you’re switching or upgrading hosting providers. To conclude, we should consider…

Unmanaged vs. managed hosting

Choosing a WordPress web host from this list is likely one of the most important decisions.

Depending on it, you might get different levels of customer support, have different levels of security, or even pay different prices.

In this first section, we will examine WordPress hosting in general. The hosting company that you select should be able to help you set up WordPress easily. WordPress is installed on your host, and that’s it.

As with most WordPress hosting, this type is known as unmanaged WordPress hosting. One-click installs the same version of WordPress that you would get on your own server should you install it.

WordPress-managed hosting goes a step further, and you get a bunch of extras.

Instead of installing WordPress on a regular host, everything is built specifically with WordPress in mind. Hosts usually customize WordPress to make it better by tailoring the infrastructure to WordPress.

Because the hosting team specializes in WordPress, you’ll have much better support and a much faster site.

It’s more expensive to host WordPress on managed hosting plans. Therefore, more value should be included in the price, so it is higher.

Site migration without headaches

When upgrading from shared hosting to WordPress hosting, you can expect a significant cost difference.

Since you are reading this, you probably plan on switching web hosts.

You can seamlessly migrate your website between web hosts with the assistance of a good web host. In some cases, they’ll provide you with a dedicated technician who will guide you through the process, or they’ll provide you with customer support personnel who can walk you through the process yourself.

There may even be a price increase for migration-and in our opinion, it’s well worth it.

Look at the site migration services that each hosting provider offers as you research. You can migrate your website to SiteGround for free by using their free site migration tool.

When it comes to migration, Flywheel has experts ready to help. It will be taken care of by their migration team, so you need not worry.

Check with the WordPress hosting provider if you are looking to transfer your website from a new host. It would be helpful if you could get as much help as possible.
